The church “De Duif” is situated in the heart of Amsterdam-City. The Catholic Church was built in an Italian baroque style in 1671 and owes its name to a peace-dove sitting above the entrance of the church. Since 1974 the church is used as a multifunctional building where symposiums, trade fairs and exhibitions are taking place. Again a renovation started in 1999 and was finished in 2002. The building had to become more functional that is it had to be a place for religious purposes as well as a place for music and dance performances, luxurious diners and receptions. Because of the ancient organ it was important to keep the indoor climate stable especially regarding the relative humidity and temperature. It was a further challenge to keep the occupied zone warmed without letting the heating energy been exhausted up at the ceiling before there was a heating effect. Mr. Hillebrand Hamberg from the Dutch company H2H Installatie Architectuur, in co-operation with Mr. Paul Morrel from Stadsherstel Amsterdam and the architect Mr. J.J.Verheggen from the architectural bureau Peters en Boggers designed a full-air concept for this project. Our Dutch agent Peek B.V., Tilburg, acted as adviser. 300 aluminium floor air outlets – type DB-EK-DN200 - matching in colour were built into the wooden floor. Looking at this air outlet supply air develops a high turbulent air flow which is mixed intensively with the indoor air of the occupied zone. In addition jet nozzles with horizontal air distribution were installed on the wall at an installation height of four meters. The air distribution system of these nozzles ensure that warm supply air is kept in the occupied zone. Consequently the thermal comfort is guaranteed. Another object is added to the list of references of Peek B.V., Tilburg and Krantz Komponenten. Special ventilating solutions are the trademark of Peek b.v.
