New entrance hall at the Atrium MC hospital in Heerlen / NL
In 2000 three hospitals located in Heerlen, Brunsum and Kerkrade respectively were merged into Atrium MC in Heerlen which thus became one of the largest general hospitals in the Netherlands.
During the extension and modernisation work Atrium MC was provided with a large entrance hall entirely made from glass. With it, the engineering office Deerns Raadgevend, Maastricht, and the architectural office An de Maas, Maastricht, have managed to create a nice atmosphere that does not make you feel like being in a hospital.
KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN too, represented in the Netherlands by Peek b.v., Tilburg, cares for comfortable environment, to be more precise thermal environment. The company Imtech Projects Roderland B.V. located at Kerkrade has been entrusted with the installation of the following Krantz products: Swivel jet nozzles of type DW (DN 80 and DN 150) and rectangular displacement outlets of type Q-R in the entrance area, plinth displacement outlets of type Q-SH, with built-in heater, in the nearby offices. The transition hall to the hospital building itself has been equipped with induction outlets of type IN-N, with preset discharge direction, whose colour matches that of the curved wooden ceiling.
The general aim was to create not a typical hospital atmosphere but rather an environment where both patients and visitors feel comfortable. This aim has been achieved.
