Air outlets manufactured by KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN above Airbus A380
The new painting hangar for Airbus A380 in Hamburg, Mühlenberger Plateau, will be fitted with a special type of air displacement outlets.
KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN got the order for such outlets in March 2003. About 250 conical displacement outlets of type VA-K are to be installed in a 213 m x 150 m painting hangar where each is to deliver 9,200 m³/h; installation height: approx. 25-30 m.
The basic principle of displacement ventilation is to keep indoor air induction as low as possible for it is essential to ensure that pollutants (such as paint droplets, solvents, etc.) do not mix with supply air. The adjustment system for the core tube and the circular slot has been designed so as to allow for a high penetration depth of the supply air jets, even when heating.
These outlets are to be installed in the Airbus hangar in spring 2004, and the HVAC plant is to be commissioned before the end of 2004.
KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN are already experienced in supplying air outlets for manufacturing or painting hangars. Among our references are Lufthansa in Hamburg, the EADS manufacturing facilities at Lemwerder and Manching (Germany) as well as a hangar of Virgin Air in UK.
