Holland Casino Breda / Netherlands a top reference
The Holland Casino Group has invested a total of 55 million Euros to turn the inside of the Breda historic monument from the 13th century into a casino. This monument used to be a monastery, but was later used to accommodate students or even soldiers.
The large casino was established after the inner court of the square building had been roofed over. Since most of the casino walls are made of glass, it is possible to see the original walls of the ancient building.
The casino comprises 7 gaming halls, 8 bars, assembly rooms and reception halls, a pub as well as several personnel rooms. The slot machines are located in the "Downtown" basement.
With a total of 820 slot machines and 41 gaming tables Holland Casino Breda is one of the largest casinos within Europe. On weekends it welcomes up to 2,500 guests and over the year no less than 600,000 visitors are expected.
Specific air distribution systems
In view of the high heating load available (up to 170 W/m²) an upward air distribution system has been selected that discharges the supply air either at low or at high turbulence depending on the requirements. The supply air is fed into a floor plenum and discharged into the halls/rooms via circular floor outlets. The floor plenum also accommodates pipes, cables, fixtures etc. The return air is extracted above the occupied zone.
This air distribution system provides an ideal thermal environment in spite of the great number of people present at a time who generate a high level of heat.
A total of 5,000 adjustable floor outlets of type BA-V-DN 150 have been installed which can distribute the supply air either at low or at high turbulence. The outlet colour matches that of the floor covering (carpet or wood).
