Casino Kursaal Oostende

Oostende/Aachen: The "CASINO KURSAAL OOSTENDE" is now one of the best convention centres, including the largest casino, in Belgium, not only because of its location – close to the sea – but also because of its new design concept.

This preserved building dating back to the 1950s was completely renovated over the past 3 years, with no structural changes permitted without a special authorisation of the authorities. Via their agency in Belgium, DECATECH AIR SYSTEMS nv, KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN had the opportunity to supply the new HVAC systems for the restored building.

Most of the building was equipped with linear whirl outlets which deliver 80% of the total conditioned air. These linear whirl outlets are found, for example, in the Hall of Honour, in the large assembly room named "Delvaux room" (in conjunction with twist outlets for heating it up faster in the heating mode), as well as in the restaurant "Ostend Queen".

Additional fresh air is supplied to the "Ostend Queen" via adjustable induction outlets, while the "Lounge Bar" is air-conditioned via twist nozzles and rectangular displacement outlets. The auditorium, with a seating capacity of 2,200 people, is equipped with seats fitted with special displacement outlets.

For the Casino, which is the largest in Belgium, different types of outlets were selected: broad multiplex outlets for the entrance area, swivel jet nozzles for the large gambling room, and a combination of linear whirl outlets and radial outlets for the slot machine hall.

To summarize, for this project KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN supplied
15 swivel jet nozzles, 25 twist nozzles, 47 radial outlets,
156 linear whirl outlets, 1,622 seat displacement outlets, as well as
a number of broad multiplex outlets and rectangular displacement outlets.
