BMW Plant in Leipzig equipped with KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN displacement outlets
Aachen/Leipzig:
The new BMW plant in Leipzig was inaugurated on 13 May 2005. The BMW Group has invested around 1.3 billion Euros in the new manufacturing facilities that feature versatile and extendable construction as well as sustainability. 650 cars a day are due to come off the assembly lines in the medium term.
The new plant comprises the car body shop, the painting shop and the final assembly shop – all fitted with state-of-the-art equipment –, the component supply centre, and the central building which is also the communication centre for all the plant staff.
The large entrance area has been so designed that it can be used as a meeting room, with fresh air being supplied via a so-called displacement air wall of more than 50 m² made up of single displacement outlet panels of different types and shapes. The last obstacle to clear was the mounting of the panels from the front with the screw fasteners being concealed.
The car body shop and the final assembly shop have been provided with circular industrial displacement outlets with manual adjusting device or volume flow damper, some of them for floor installation.
KRANTZ KOMPONENTEN have supplied a total of: 110 displacement outlet panels in rectangular, trapezoidal and curved design Contractor: M+W Zander Gebäudetechnik GmbH, Dresden branch
674 circular industrial displacement outlets in sizes ranging from DN 355 to DN 630 Contractor: IMTECH Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, Planegg
Plant site planning: WPW Ingenieure GmbH, Saarbrücken Ingenieurbüro W. Paulus & Partner, Hanau Planungsgruppe M+M AG., Böblingen
